无色至微黄色、有[[栀子花]]香味的透明油状液体。相对密度1.05。沸点262°C。闪点118°C。折射率1.5271（20°C）。几乎不溶于水和[[甘油]]，易溶于[[乙醇]]和[[乙醚]]。低毒，LD<sub>50</sub> 3300 mg/kg（大鼠经口）。

==制备==
由[[乙酸]]与[[肉桂醇]]在[[硫酸]][[催化]]之下进行[[酯化]]，再经中和、洗涤和减压蒸馏而得。
