English: The probability patterns for the d orbitals. Note, that in order to represent actual orbitals with finite probability density cutoff, the lobes shouldn't reach to the nucleus. As they do, it seems that the radial wavefunction is not properly taken into account. So these “orbitals” are rather just spherical harmonics, which represent the directionial part of the wavefunctions. |
