佩龍於1914至1922年間在[[德國]][[海德堡大學]]擔任教授。1922年至1951年則轉任教於[[慕尼黑大学]]。 佩龍對[[微分方程]]和[[偏微分方程]]做出了许多贡献，其中之一是Perron方法，用以解决[[椭圆型偏微分方程|椭圆偏微分方程式]]中的[[狄利克雷问题]] 。

佩龍撰寫了一本關於[[連分數]]的專著《連分理論》（''Die Lehre von den Kettenbrüchen''）。佩龍引入了「佩龍悖論」（Perron's paradox）：
: 假設 <math>N</math> 是最大的正整数。 若 <math>N>1</math>，则 <math>N^2>N</math>，與 <math>N</math> 的定义相矛盾。因此 <math>N=1</math>。
用以說明在[[最佳化]]問題中，逕直假設極值存在是有可能產生矛盾結果的。
