下面這個表格簡要地展現了歷史上[[圓周率]]的計算，也包括一部份[[數學史]]上關於認識圓周率的重大事件。

與圓周率的計算無直接關係的事件會以<span style="background-color:PeachPuff">淺紅色背景</span>表示，世界紀錄會以<span style="background-color:LightCyan">淺青色背景</span>表示，在表述圓周率的近似值小數以及其計算正確位數時無特別說明皆為用十進制。
